Linocuts
Linocuts by Marjorie Talle Merriman, Oct. 11–Dec. 15, Center for
Faith and Life.
Maryland artist Talle Merriman holds a master of fine arts
degree from Mt. Royal Graduate School, Maryland Institute College of Art.
“My initial interest in linocuts was a practical one,” she said.
“I could duplicate without a press and with no extra equipment, just
the cutting tools and the linoleum. In addition to the simplicity of the medium,
I like the physicality of cutting and the evidence of the artist's hand in
the resulting print.”
